What is Titanium Bars and Rods?

Titanium bars and rods are mainly composed of titanium (Ti) alloyed with some other elements. In Titanium Grade 5, Ti-6Al-4V, its composition is 90% of titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. It has a great strength-to-weight ratio, good corrosion resistance, and high temperature performance. Its mechanical properties in Ti-6Al-4V are tensile strength: 930-1,100 MPa; yield strength: 830 MPa; elongation: 10-15%. The alloy has a hardness of about 350 HB and is suitable for aerospace, medical, and marine applications. Other grades of titanium, such as Grade 2, contain 99% pure titanium with traces of iron and oxygen.
