Hemi Metals is a prominent company based in Hamilton New Zealand. It deals with the high-quality metal manufacturing and supplying process. The organization has a sound reputation in the market and sells various materials: amongst them are Aluminium 5005 Forgings. These Forgings are specifically corrosion-resistant and highly durable while possessing good formability. Hence, they have great strength coupled with light weight; these are often used in Aerospace, Automotive and Construction industries, among others. Hemi Metals guarantees superior workmanship, quality service, and timely delivery, making it a reliable business partner for companies that require high-quality aluminum products in the New Zealand and other countries.
Aluminium 5005 Forgings is an alloy that comprises 0.5% magnesium, with minor additions of silicon, 0.3-0.6%, iron, 0.7%, copper, 0.1%, and manganese, 0.1%. There are traces of zinc, titanium, and chromium. This material has resistance to corrosion at the highest level, therefore allowing its use in harsh marine environments. With a tensile strength that ranges between 180 and 230 MPa, and a yield strength that varies from 90 to 130 MPa, the elongation is 12-18%. The alloy has hardness of around 60-75 Brinell and good formability, weldability, and anodizing qualities that make it useful for architectural applications, boat building, and other industrial uses.

Aluminum 5005 offers excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, formability, and moderate strength, making it ideal for custom forgings in architectural and marine applications, while providing a smooth, aesthetic finish.
Aluminum 5005 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications. It has moderate strength and good corrosion resistance but lacks the high-temperature stability needed for forging processes.
Aluminum 5005 has good workability, allowing for easy forging. Its moderate strength and excellent corrosion resistance make it suitable for shaping, but it requires careful control of temperature to avoid cracking.
Aluminium 5005 forgings are used primarily in applications where there is a requirement for good corrosion resistance, especially in marine environments and coastal areas. Due to their high strength-to-weight ratio, they are highly suitable for the aerospace, automotive, and transportation industries, including aircraft structures and shipbuilding. They are also used in architectural applications such as window frames, curtain walls, and building facades, where oxidation resistance is required. These forgings are also applied in the fabrication of pressure vessels, tanks, and pipelines. In addition, these are used in food and beverage processing equipment, where hygiene and corrosion resistance are crucial.
