Stainless Steel 431 Bars and Rods are composed primarily of iron, chromium (15-17%), nickel (less than 1%), and a small percentage of carbon (0.15% max), alongside other elements like molybdenum and manganese. This alloy offers excellent resistance to corrosion and good hardness. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 620-800 MPa and a yield strength of 450 MPa. It also exhibits good wear and oxidation resistance, making it suitable for high-stress applications requiring strength and durability, like shafts, valves, and fasteners. Its hardness can reach up to 40 HRC when heat-treated.
