Our grade 431 hex bar is a chromium-low nickel high quality, hard high capacity martensitic stainless steel, generally supplied in hardness and tempered state with a tensile strength range of 850 – 1000 MPa (Condition T) and Brinell density method of 248 – 302 . These good-strength timbers provide balance and corrosion resistance, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications.
SS 431 Hex Bar is a martensitic stainless steel with a composition that typically includes 16-18% chromium, 1.25% molybdenum, 0.15% carbon, and trace amounts of nickel, manganese, and silicon. This composition provides excellent corrosion resistance and high strength, making it ideal for harsh environments. The mechanical properties of SS 431 include a tensile strength of 580-700 MPa, yield strength of 310-450 MPa, and hardness of 45-50 HRC when heat-treated. These attributes make SS 431 Hex Bar suitable for applications requiring durability, wear resistance, and structural integrity in extreme conditions.
